Rebecca
and John Moores UCSD Cancer Center
Signage Design
La Jolla,
California
The McCulley Group developed the
exterior and interior signage system for the 270,000 square
foot, five-story Rebecca and John Moores UCSD Cancer Center.
The McCulley Group determined exact signage types and locations
after conducting a full navigational analysis of the space,
which includes chemotherapy/infusion, radiation/oncology,
and cancer prevention and control wards; women’s and
multi-modality clinics; auditorium; cancer commons; café;
outdoor mesa; offices; and back-of-house spaces.
The McCulley Group used natural materials such as brushed
aluminum and glass to compliment the design of the building,
which consists of glass elements spanning throughout, contrasted
with a high wood shingled ceiling, and vertical surfaces
infused with one of forty vibrant color selections.
The building was designed by architect, ZGF
Partnership.
